The European Conference on the Results from Road Transport Research (RTR Conference 2024) held from February 5th to 7th in Brussels, at the esteemed BluePoint conference center, was a landmark event that brought together the brightest minds in transportation research. The conference, now in its 7th edition, showcased the pioneering outcomes of Horizon 2020 projects and introduced the latest advancements from Horizon Europe-funded initiatives.
Among the highlights was the presentation by Nathalie Teer from EasyMile, representing the AWARD project on February 6th. The session titled “CCAM on the roads” not only spotlighted AWARD but also featured insightful discussions on projects Hi-Drive and SHOW, under the adept moderation of Suzanna Kraak and Margriet Van Schijndel-de Nooij.
Nathalie provided a comprehensive overview of AWARD, delving into the project’s four use cases. She emphasized the significant milestones achieved, the challenges encountered, the latest developments, and the anticipated next steps. Additionally, Nathalie outlined the mid to long-term expected impacts of AWARD, painting a vivid picture of its contribution to the future of mobility.
The presentation culminated in an engaging Q&A session that lasted about an hour, reflecting the keen interest of the audience. Questions primarily focused on the replicability and adaptability of the use cases, safety concerns, and regulatory issues, indicating the relevance and applicability of AWARD’s research in real-world scenarios.
